New and used British, Italian, Japanese, German, Korean, and French automobiles are available locally. Foreign vehicles purchased duty-free in Nairobi are higher priced than American vehicles, and since they must be ordered from the factory, delivery can take longer than three months. The minimum age for obtaining a driver’s license is 18. Learner’s permits for motorcycles are available at age 16.
